Improve your health

Do you want to be healthy and enjoy vitality? To live life well? If this is important to you then you will want to check out this website.

Health is not accidental

While the old adage is still true, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," most of us make needed changes only after a health scare.  Illness is our body's way of telling us something is wrong; it is like an oil light on the dashboard of our life.

Medications usually treat the symptoms (and add complications), not solve the problem. If you do not get to the root of the problem you will likely become dependent on pharmaceutical band-aid solutions. It this what you want?

We at Shore Wellness Solutions will try to get to the root to the problem and act accordingly, moving you and your family toward wellness in all of its facets.

Truly, our greatest asset is our health. Health is wealth.

Why live life worrying about your health? Take charge of you and your family's well-being now by checking out this site (starting with the video below).

The foundations to health

Health
We are what we eat

Do you want to live a rich, healthy, life? Here are the absolute essentials.

  1. Diet. Our typical North American diet is too high in fats, sugars, refined salt, processed or refined grains and more. Many of these are addictive: our brains crave them. Eat lots of vegetables and fruits, then mainly non-meat proteins and whole grains. Drink plenty of water. Read more here.
  2. Exercise. Use your muscles or lose them -and your health. Walk, jog, cycle, hop, swim, use the gym, do sit-ups, push-ups, whatever. Make it fun. Just get moving!
  3. Sleep. Not only enough of it but a high quality sleep, too. Avoid eating in the evenings, avoid the TV or computer in the evenings, count your blessings, laugh, play, make peace with yourself and others...
  4. Improve your most important relationships: spouse/partner, children and parents, friends, work-place/school, and especially with yourself. Combine honesty with kindness. Set healthy boundaries. Consult with a qualified professional such as here.
  5. Claim meaning and purpose in your life that is inspiring to you; one that involves spirituality, play, creativity, a positive attitude toward life, and ideally includes a healthy sex life. Even exchanging hugs has been shown to improve physical and emotional health!

Taking vitamins and herbs and using essential oils do not make up for the above: they supplement or support your healthy lifestyle.

We are social beings. Health depends on experiencing healthy connections to others. This also extends to our relationship with health care practitioners (doctors, health coaches, therapists, etc.). If they are emotionally supportive our physical health is boosted!

Why "alternative"?

Ever wonder why the word "alternative" is used to describe non-pharmaceutical healing methods and non-renewable sources of energy? This is no coincidence.

In the early 1900's very wealthy, influential men by the name of Rockefeller (an oil baron) and Carnegie pushed for scientific training of all doctors. They hired Abraham Flexner who believed that natural methods of healing were quackery. The Flexner report led to the closing of virtually all non-pharmaceutical-oriented schools within a decade.

Pharmaceutical products are created using artificial chemicals, which is why they cause harm to our bodies. Petrochemical products similarly harm our bodies. Both industries are responsible for the death of thousands of North American's every year.

The American Health Association is funded by the pharmaceutical industry, helping to explain why that association, and classically-trained physicians, are opposed to the use of natural healing substances -even though the long-term survival rate for their cancer patients (for example) is only about 2.5%! In fact, most cancer treatments lead to the early death of the patients. But the cancer "industry" is highly profitable, and enjoys widespread support from governments through donations to cancer societies. The video below is a rather shocking expose by a health care practitioner.

Instead of calling holistic health (and renewable energy) "alternatives" it is now time for science to prevail and promote methods of healing that address the root cause of illnesses.

This is the purpose of the website you are now visiting.

Residue of popular herbicide likely encourages illness

Glysophate
Glysophate

A chemical and food company wants us to believe that glysophate, a widely-used herbicide, is not only safe -it might be used to treat cancer!

How profitable, as it may also increase your risk for cancer.

Glysophate is considered to be toxic to animals, including humans. A study by two independent scientists, published in Entropy April 2013, connects the increasingly widespread use of glyphosate with modern diseases because of its "inhibition of cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes, an overlooked component of its toxicity to mammals. CYP enzymes play crucial roles in biology, one of which is to detoxify xenobiotics. Thus, glyphosate enhances the damaging effects of other food borne chemical residues and environmental toxins."

In other words, it slowly induces disease.

"Consequences are most of the diseases and conditions associated with a Western diet, which include gastrointestinal disorders, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, depression, autism, infertility, cancer and Alzheimer’s disease."

A copy of the whole report can be found under the link GMO's.

Conclusion: only eat organically grown food or foods known not to have been sprayed with Round-up Ready herbicide. Consider also helping your cells to repair from this damage by using Asea.

Ending the Junk Food Obsession

Eating healthy
Eating healthy

We all know that smoking tobacco is bad for our health. With both public pressure and far higher taxes, smoking is (thankfully) on the decline in Canada.

Now we are facing the crushing health effects of junk food and beverages. These are filled with bad fats, sugar, and salt -plus colorants in soft drinks. The results are alarming: rapidly rising rates of obsity, diabetes, heart conditions, cancer, and far more. Our health care system can't keep up. It turns out that a tobacco company is the largest junk food company! Even the most ardent libertarian (who dislikes government intervention in our lives) may have to concede that doing nothing about this epidemic is harming all of us.

Thus we may have to do the same thing with junk food and drinks as we did with tobacco: apply social pressure as well as add taxes. We know that banning didn't work with alcohol (and isn't working with street drugs). At least taxing these ills will raise money needed to pay for the freedom to eat and drink ourselves into oblivion. For more information read this Globe & Mail article.
